First off, thank you for selecting me for your portrait photos! There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to do your photos. I want the photos to reflect YOU!
Every person is unique, so your session is really up to you. If you have ideas for an epic location or fun activity I’m 100% down to go with the flow!
It’s all about you interacting and moving in whatever way is natural to you.
I’ve got a lot of posing prompts and activities that will give you something to do and get the interaction started. I do as much as I can to avoid any cheesy poses or awkward moments.
No cheesy poses required.
So bring your genuine self, and we’ll capture some amazing photos together!

WHAT TO WEAR
Plan on wearing two outfits! My suggestion is to wear one casual and one fancy outfit to add more variety to your photos!
Plan to wear your favorite outfit the second half of the session. This is when the lighting will be the best! Want to bring three outfits?That’s totally fine!
Wear clothes that make you feel like you. I want you to look like yourself, but at your best! Avoid anything too busy!
Choose neutral tones, my personal favorite is white, black or cream (love some lace!) Incorporate at least one accessory, items like a scarf, chunky necklace or hat!
I suggest getting your hair and make-up done, you want to feel your very best!

I have teamed up with two local hair and make up artist! While it’s not required, it’s strongly encouraged to get your hair and make up professionally done for the session. It makes a HUGE difference for photos and you want to truly feel your BEST! Let’s not come all this way and DIY it!

What time should I plan on?
Lighting is the number one most important element in creating breathtaking photos! The best light is about two hours before sunset, so plan on early evening. In the summer this is from about 6:30-7:30 PM, in the fall/winter, plan on 3:30-5:30 PM. Sessions are 75 minutes long.
Where will we go?
I’m up for adventure and love exploring new places, so the sky is the limit! The location really comes down to what you want in your photos. We can go urban, mountains or even a cozy in-home session. Travel within one hour of 80022 is included, anything over an hour will require a travel fee. Please note that some places require a permit and additional fees may apply. As soon as you pay your deposit, I’ll send you my exclusive list of locations to choose from, or I’m always open to try someplace new!
Can we bring our dog/cat/pet turtle?
We can absolutely take photos with your furry family member! If you want to bring along a pet, I always suggest you have a friend come along to hold them during the shoot so that we can take some distraction free photos of just you.
Should I get my hair and make up done?
This is not a requirement by any means, but I do encourage you to get your hair and make up done! Just ensure you allow plenty of time the day of to get these two things done.
How long until I see my images?
You will have your finished gallery within two-three weeks of your session. You will get an online gallery link that is live for 10 years to share with friends and family.
Can I print them MYselF?
Yes, you can. However I recommend using the professional lab that is set up through your online gallery. The image quality and color is much higher than those from a big box store or chain store to ensure a lifetime of quality.
What if the weather is bad?
We can totally reschedule if you are flexible on your date. We will reschedule to the next available date for both of us! Otherwise, we will rock that weather and make the best of it!
“I’m REALLY AWKWARD . . .”
. . . but everyone thinks they are!
I hear this more often than you would think! You’re stoked to have me photograph you, but you’re convinced you’re super awkward and don’t know what to do.
Ultimately, as a photographer it is my job to help you break out of your shell and show a side of you that you didn’t know was even possible. But at the end of the day, it is what you make it. So come ready to be yourself! I will provide you with prompts that may sound funny in person, but photograph great. I try to remind my clients that its about YOU, not cheesy photos looking at me the entire time. Is there a special spot, or drink or even music that will help you? Let me know! I want you to feel as comfortable as possible!
